hello my name is Pete and I am the owner of a newly rescued bully breed that I have yet to establish what breed he actually is I'm guessing American bulldog or boxer not sure due to his size, he is fairly large. He has been with me for about a week now and he just started to pick up an appetite so any suggestions on what to feed to regain some weight would be greatly appretiated. taking a trip to vet on tomorrow to get rabies and parvo shots and check for heart worms. until then have kept away from my 2 yr. old blk lab. so far no signs of aggresion from either just happy tail wagging going on at the door so I hope they really get along with each other.

I would have to say your dog appears to be a standard type American Bulldog or an American Bulldog x APBT cross. Definitely see no Boxer in him at all. As far as food, please check out the food sticky in the health section... any food without corn/wheat/soy/by-products, etc. is a step in the right direction. I personally feed DVP Natural Balance and love it. I can say that your dog appears to be at a good weight in the pics posted. You want to keep large breeds fit and trim.... they should have a nice tucked tummy and you should be able to see a rib or two... it is much healthier for them since they can be prone to dysplasia and other bone/joint issues, especially if kept heavy. As for your dogs getting along, are they both males? Are they both neutered? I always say it's best to keep dogs of opposite sex together, and if same sex, they should definitley be altered (even then it's no guarantee they will get along) Make sure you never leave them alone together unsupervised, and make sure they have no items that could potentially cause a fight (common toys, food, etc.)

Welcome to the forum!
