Help EB

Hi, my 7.5 month old EB has some sort of small bald spot that I can figure out what it is. He has one on top of his neck, right leg and one on the other side top of his paw. At first the one on top of his neck was bleeding and there is no hair there. What could this be? I saw one Flea on him so I quickly had him on FrontLine and now I dont see no more fleas. Any thought of what this small bald spot would help, thanks. OH yea and now he is eating Kirkland puppy food. Not sure if its the food but his starting to have more tears then before or maybe his just getting older. Tear stains are starting to show.

my eb had the same problem but his spots where moist took him to the vet and found they where hot spots, two weeks later he had a similar problem this time he had several spots with no hair took him to the vet and found it was demodex mange
EB's are prone to skin problems... it *could* be irratation from fleas, but best to take him to the vet and have a scraping done to rule out demodectic mange.

If it's just allergies, try cutting out corn, wheat and soy out of his diet.

So did you have the Demodex Mange treated? or did it go away by its own? According to the website its some sort of puppy hood that I could go away by itself and to tell if breeding in the future is possible.

I do believe Demodex Mange neesd to be treats with dips, shampoos etc. from the vet. I think it also depends on how bad the dog has it too.
Well it has been almost a month now and the demodex mange still havent gone away. If fact it has gone alot worse then before. I have been giving him the special shampoo that the vet gave me (Etiderm Shampoo) and have been following the instructions. Man I will have to go to a different vet tomorrow and see what they will have to say. Is the Pound vet better then the privite own ones? I was thinking of going to the Pound vets cause I'm sure they deal with more abused dogs in terms of health wise. Can you guys tell me you stories on your fight with this type of skin diease?
Did your vet do a skin scraping? Mytaban is used for Demodectic mange, I haven't heard about a shampoo only treatment, but then again, I haven't dealt with it in about 7 years... it's possible that it's a new treatment. Are you planning on breeding the pup? Call the breeder you got him from, and get their advice, and perhaps ask for their bulldog vet (if they are local.)

I have only had one dog that got it, and Mytaban was the dip used. I also worked as a groomer for many years, and sometimes owners would bring in the dip for their dog's treatment.
Molly has a hot spot on her front paw. She licks and licks it. It turned red and raw and the hair fell out. The vet said it was a hot spot. They will get them if something has bothered their skin. Very common in EB's. He gave her a small cortizone shot (1/2 dosage) to stop the itch. And I've been putting Animax cream on it and giving her antibiotics. She still keeps licking it and I think the next resort is a head cone or sock. He said you need to get these things checked out because they can spread quickly.
Ok i cant help but go the same vet for a recheck. This time we did a scrape again on top of the head and man she showed me there was alot under the microscope. This time she gave me antibotics and some other medicine that she claims should kill the Demodex Mange. I surely hope this is it. Of course I will have to go back after 2 weeks of treatment to recheck. He has been really sleepy now probly cause of the medicine. Still does his normal play routine sometimes.
What kind of 'other' medication? Cream, salve, pills? It should be a dip, IMO and IME. Research the medication online and see if it is effective in treating demodetic mange.
CC had to do dips for 7 weeks and she only had it on one spot the size of a quarter. and the vet I go to now gave me a sauve goodwinol ointment to put on it and now its gone.
i used mitoban 2 dips per bottle i also used medicated shampoo chlorketo and some ointment for his eyes also antibioticcs and pre  it took seven weeks for my dog
