How to post a picture

There are two ways to post a picture. I will try to be as detailed as possible, but if you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask!

The first way, using the Insert Picture button. This method will only work if you are using the Enhanced Interface text box. For instructions on how to activate that, please see the User CP tutorial in this section.

First, you need to start a new thread:

Second, you need to click on the Insert Picture Icon, shown below:

If you get the following warning, please click on it and select Temporarily Allow Scripted Windows. If you are not comfortable doing this, please use the second way of posting pictures.

You will need to click on the Insert Picture button again, and a window will pop up with a text box. You will need to put the LINK to your picture here.

After you put your link in the text box, click ok, and the image will be loaded into your post. You will be able to resize it, and move it within the text box.

The second way, BBCode.

Start a new thread:

Input the IMG code for your picture, like the following:

Using this method, you are unable to resize your pictures within the text box. However, you do not have to allow the scripted windows.

When you are finished posting, click Submit New Thread at the bottom.

I just tested with the bulldog pic and it worked for me... hmmm... can you try again in that thread?
I *think* I have this figured out.

If the picture is uploaded to the forum's server, you will get the red x. However, if you link to an offsite photo(like Photobucket for your signature) it should show up, if you have that option enabled. For instructions on how to enable it, please see the User CP tutorial in this section.

That's what I'm noticing as I browse the forum. Any avatars, banners, or pictures that I see, are linked from another source. Anything that is a red x, has been uploaded to BDB.
Hi. I am not very good with computers and have a bit of trouble understanding. All my photos are in a folder in my computer but when I click on any of them I cant seem to find an IMG code or a LINK. Where do I find these? Do my photos have to be somewhere "special" to get either of these? (IMG/link)? I can put photos in the photo album here but cant work out how to add them to threads or in the photo thread as I dont have/know where to find the codes for them. Thanks. :)

You need to upload them to a photo hosting site, such as Photobucket(it's free to sign up.)
OK, thank you for that. I will definately have a look on the weekend. Sorry, would you be able to tell me.. If I remember correctly there is a limit to the amount of photos you can have. Is that only for the album or if I post a pic in a thread does that count? Thanks. :)
There is a limit to the photo albums, but there is no limit in posts, unless you reach the maximum post character limit(I believe it's 30000 characters)
Can i use other photo hosting sites other than photo bucket??

I want a hosting site which respects my privacy. Any one read photobuckets terms and conditions!

It'd be cool to be able to load photos directly from hard drive like i can on other forums.

Could any one explain more about the Enhanced Interface text box,
What is it and how can i use it. Can i load photos directly there??

Thanks v much
Is there a way insert a picture just like above..but not use the URL or photobucket? I belong to another forum and it's wonderful for Ipad and IPhone users. Can submit with a click right off our camera rolls! In fact, you can take the picture and insert using the same icon here..OR choose existing from the camera roll.
Let me check with administration. Photobucket or your personal file was the only way
but things change so it may have been updated by now.

Give til Tuesday or Wednesday for an answer being that it is a weekend. Thanks.

Thanks for checking! Patience is my middle name. Lol
Here you go:

1) Is there a way insert a picture just like above..but not use the URL or photobucket? I belong to another forum and it's wonderful for Ipad and IPhone users. When you post, there is a button below the boxed area where you type in your message called "Go Advanced." When you click on that, you will see that you have more options to type in your post, including a button called "manage attachments."

This is how you can upload an image from your computer or tablet into a post. The caveat on using this method is that you're limited to how many images you can upload with your account unless you upgrade to a paid membership, in which case, you'll have a higher storage limit on your account here.

Yes yes yes. When you use the "insert image" icon/feature, all it asks for is the URL to where your image is stored. As long as your image is stored somewhere on the internet, it can be attached in a post.

Terrific! Thank you!
I admit that I am tech challenged. How do I post a picture from my Android phone? Can post a photo directly from the gallery on my phone?
Omg it worked!!!!!!
Pretty cool! Isn't it?

Think I need to test too!
