I have not but that's not to say it doesn't happen. Anytime surgery is done, their is always a risk. But there is also always a risk if the dog scratches himself scooting underneath a fence, steps on glass, etc.

However, I will say in all my years of practice, the great majority of infections came about b/c the owners did not a) prevent their dog from licking at the incision site (#1 cause) or b) keep the incision area dry & clean.

did both

they had those e collars the cones so they couldn't lick and they were keep dry & clean. Vet said something about some dogs carry in on there skin and it never bothers them untill they have an open wound or incission. I was just wondering if anyone else ever ran into this I have had many dogs had done neutering before but never a problem so was just couruos
