Hi...I'm the proud new mom of Rocketman, aka, Rocket, a 16 week old pure white, deaf American bulldog. I also have an 8 month old beagle, 2 cats, assorted fish (including a reef tank) and 4 kids. I've previously owned an AB, and my husband has previously owned 2 ABs (one he adopted when it was older...she passed away of old age. the other he lost to his ex-wife in their divorce
).
So far, training with Rocket is going well. I'm teaching him basic signs (sit, down) and he's learned to come find me when he feels me thump on the floor. The hardest thing to teach a deaf dog is no...it has to be mostly done with body language. He's great with my kids and we're so happy to have him. We werent' told when we got him that he was deaf, but it's not a big deal. We'll manage!
Look forward to posting more and reading about everyone's wonderful bullies!
