My parents have a 14 year old Kerry Blue, Molly, whom they have been feeding Science Diet to since forever. After reading some info on food that I found on this site and taking the food nutrition survey, I finally got my parents to switch to Natures Variety. They have been switching her slowly, but over the last few days she has been peeing and pooping all over the house. Would this be because of the new food? Would food effect her urinary function? She is going to the vet tomorrow, but I will be heart broken if it my fault that she is sick! Could it be that her body was so used to the old food, she can not handle the new stuff? Could this end up being a long term problem?

When a dog has been on a food for THAT long and has done okay, no reason to switch them. I would take the doggy to the vet to clear up anything that is going on and just go back to its normal food

I would say her system is not used to new food and has developed diarreah from it which may have caused her some incontinence at her age because of the muscles in that area not being as strong as they once were. But a vet trip is a good idea just in case it is something else.
