Our of no where, Janie has stopped eating Canidae. It is basically the only food she has eaten since she has been born. Do you guys think its bad? It is a brand new bag. Or is she just trying to tell us something....if only she could talk!!!

smell the food.... if she has been on it since forever, you should be able to tell if the food smells a little different.

If it smells fine to you.... maybe she is testing you. I believe she is at the right age to start doing that

she's just being a bitch, it's her age. don't fall into her ploy to get you to mix treats and such into her food :lol:

she got really bad diarhea though...and then she stopped eating it.

well maybe she has a very upset tummy.... anything she could have ate that would cause blockage??

If not, try fasting her for a day and then for 2 to 3 days feed her boiled chicken and rice... plain diet that will soothe her tummy. If she STILL does not eat her real food.... then go with the assumption she is testing you and try the take away her food. do this for up to 3 days, unless she starts being normal again. If she is still acting normal but not eating, do this still. If she starts moping and being lethargic, take her to the vet as it is more then adolecence

ahhh, you shoudl also try feeding her plain yogurt mixed with rice, you can mix this into her food too. It will stop the diareah and dogs LOVE yogurt, so she will eat all her food up nice n quick.

we did the chicken and rice thing. she is back to acting like her old self but still wont eat it...

we fed her some Abady that we had from a friend and she scoffed it up.

take some low sodium chic broth and toss it on the canidea! more likely she will eat it then!

There are other good dog foods besides Canidae. It may be too rich for her or she's just tired of it. I thought about it but the one store that carries it only has one variety. So I'm feeding Narure's Variety. My store carries all their dry kibble flavors, their raw patties, and their freeze-dried raw.

also u can try i think its called chicken noodle soup for the dog food, my buddy uses it on his dobermans and they love it.
