The standards mature much fater than the johnsons, depending on their lines.
Physically, the performance/standards finish physically at 2 yrs. Mentally, I would say 3.
The painter stuff mature VERY quickly physically but mentally, they take awhile.
I don't know the facination with head size. I want correct proportions. I want a nice clean head with no pallet problems, tight lips, and a tight reverse scissor bite. No disrespect to anyone's dogs. I just don't understand the logic of breeding dogs with such extreme undershot bites and giant heads. It creates soooooooo many health issues. I think breeders to shy away from extremes, for the dog's sake.
