mating question

I had the first experience mating my bulldog, I took him to the vets office and a professional helped them to mate but only one time, is that ok or it was necessary to have them together more than once?

These are questions that should be asked at your vet and they should have been things that you researched long before you bred your dog.
What does your vet say?
It is better to have the dogs tie more than once, but you need to do it during an appropriate time period. These are questions you should have asked your vet prior to breeding.
So you ARE a first timer with a bully and you bred him? OMFGosh. Do you have any idea how many dogs are euthenized a year in the USA? Well, I do. Mark that at 2.5-3.5 MILLION yeah thats right MILLION!!!!! shame on you!!! And actually I don't care who you are (not just you) I don't think we need any more f-ing special doggies in the world.
Before everyone gets explosive, this could be a troll setting us up.
Just kinda curious. Is it a common practice to have a vet have dogs tie up? I've never known of one to miss the mark on it's own.

He has an EB and many are so poorly bred that they can't even breed without help  Yet people keep breeding them...

Seems to me if a dog can't get the job done on it's own then maybe it's not meant to be?

I think the sky just opened up and sang "hallelujah" LOL

I completely agree! Yet, people keep breeding these dogs. Honestly, I would rather see these dogs become extinct than continue to watch people destroy them by continuing to breed such poor specimens.
I think the EB as it was meant to be is pretty much an endangered species already. There are a few ethical breeders left but I'm afraid the gene pool isn't large enough to sustain the breed as it should be.
I also think that the AKC and UKC are also a source of the problem - they are not only registering poorly bred dogs they are allowing them to show! And this goes for all breeds. I really hope to never buy a dog that is registered or even has dogs in its pedigree that are registered with the big kennel clubs.
not sure they are from the US, not that it matters, bad breeding ethics are bad breeding ethics no matter the country. Your puppy is still a PUPPY and shouldnt have been bred, your vet is an idiot.
Why do you breed when you don't know the most basic of things?
*shakes head* Too late, guys. The OP already bred his dog even though he knows nothing of breeding and is breeding such a sorry specimin that it needed vet help doing what it should be capable of doing naturally. Obviously, the vet isn't an ethical vet (IMO) and will do optional procedures like this breeding for the money and not bother to make sure the owner is competent and the dog is breed worthy. Probably thinking of the huge fee he/she will get when it comes time to do the c-section.
The AKC and UKC aren't the ones breeding dogs and making poor breeding decisions. They aren't the breed police...they are there mainly to keep records of lineage...all breeds have problems, some more than others, but I don't feel the kennel clubs should be to blame since they aren't the ones putting the dogs together..breeders and the breed clubs are to blame when you have a breed riddled with problems...jmo.
I think the kennel clubs decide on the standard? or am I wrong?
I believe it is the BREED CLUB that submits the standards to the AKC, UKC, etc.

And if they were, can you imagine how quickly some things would go down the drainpipe? The last thing I want is the AKC policing the breeds and saying that manwork is not appropriate for making breeding decisions. So on and so forth. *shiver*
