Molly is hacking up phlegm (SP)

So a few days ago Buster started hacking not bad just a hack here and there well yesterday Molly starts and it has gotten worse as it is non stop and phlegm is now coming up with her cough.I had an appointment at the vet for Monday for Molly to have her tested for diabetes cause she is showing signs of having it but now she has this so I called the vet and they moved her appointment up to tonight at 6:15.Sounds like kennel cough to me but they haven't been boarded or around any other animals.Buster was at the vet two weeks ago for his neuter and stayed over night and that would be the only way for them to catch this.Neither have had the kennel cough vax cause they are never boarded or around other dogs. Now my hubby said Buster was hacking this morning but just a lil bit and nothing comes up with his hack. Now all morning the only one I have heard hacking is Molly.Sounds like she smoked a carton of smokes all at once
Does this sound like kennel cough to you?

Now she is panting like crazy........WTH is going on with her
I would call your vet back and let them know she's getting worse. Maybe they'll work her in today! :(
You know, when mine are sick and I start to feel that panic that comes because you know if you wait a moment longer something bad could happen - I don't wait. I just put them in the car and go. Go directly to the desk and say, I think my dog is dying. They will see them on the spot. This sounds like one of those times. I would get her there quickly as she could lose the ability to breath with all that phlegm in her throat and lungs.
She has an appointment for 6:15 tonight. Her breathing seems alright other then her panting.
She is in an airconditoned house but I think all the hacking is making her pant.
If I see or feel that she cant wait till tonight I will run her over.I wouldnt chance it.

Does it sound like kennel cough to any of you?
Roxy had Kennel Cough but I am sure Nikki is sleeping by now.
Someone else did too, but I cannot remember which dog - I'll check the health files.
Here are three sites that have info on this - hope they help:

Thanks pat. From what I have read that seems to be what Molly has.Guess we will find out for sure tonight.
I am really surprised they did not require the kennel cough vaccine when he was in to be neutered. When I had Dozers hip x-rays done, they gave him his because he was going to be in the back with the other dogs while he was waking up. He did not even stay the night.

Let us know what you find out and I hope they feel better soon.

Yea I am very irritated that this probably is from Buster going in to be fixed and they never said a thing about needing the kennel cough vax of course i never thought of it myself either.I will fill you in when I get back. Thanks
How is Molly doing today, what did the vet have to say?
I was going to say KC, the hacking up of phlem(sp) is normally a good sign that the cough is coming to an end. She may need anitbiotics to help clear the infection. It is a bit like our common cold, no true vaccines, to many different kinds of KC.

Roxy had her vaccine shots and still went down with it.
Any update? Hope she's ok.... :(
