Orson doing one of his favorite pastimes...sucking squirrel!
He won't suck any other plush rodent, not even a chipmunk.
The funniest part is all the while he's sucking, he whines really loud..
sort of pathetic and sad really!!
Even as a puppy:

That's too funny! It does sound like a nursing thing, though. Kaia's puppies always whined when they were nursing.

love the last pic looks like a real squirl he has eatten!
Sometimes i am afraid he's gonna start sucking on our kitten,
she is grey too...so i have to look twice!

Awww Koa, that's sweet too!
I wonder if these sucking dogs just get their feeling hurt easily?
Orson will start sucking if I don't give him the attention he wants.
It's like his way of pouting.

That is so cute - but do not put a stuffie in front of Clara, it would be toast within 30 minutes and all over the carpet.

He does the exact same thing..destroys ALL stuffed toys in seconds flat.
But not his squirrels!! He's got other plans for them :binky:

Same with Boges. I can't give him plush toys because they are destroyed in seconds, but his round fleece ball he will suck on. Usually he only does this in the evening while we are laying in bed watching TV or something. We actually have a few of these fleece balls to alternate because they get so dirty after awhile.

Same here, we have a downstairs squirrel and and upstairs squirrel!! We've already gone through a couple pairs
already. As you see in first pic, it doesnt matter the shape of the toy...as long as it's a squirell!! :-k Expain that one??
Other rodents don't even make the cut, he can tell it's a just a chipmunk and destroys it.
Why one toy is better than the other is beyond me??

I read somewhere this behavior, esp. if it's paired with the kneading motion (orson does it), that it is
comforting and helps them relax when they are anxious.

POOR BABIES!!
