I'm just curious if anybody else has this happening at home.

When I come home, no matter how long I have been gone (be it 30 minutes or 5 hours) my dog needs a big "hug" before he will settle down. I have to sit down and he jumbs up between my legs and wraps both front arms around my waist and puts his head on my stomach and waits for me to hug him back. Once he has been hugged he goes about his buisiness.

Im sure some of you must have the same sort of thing happening. Im more curious if y6our dog needs it every time like mine.
I never even really though about it until my sister came over to visit the other day and we left for lunch and than later for some shopping and she commented on how funny it was that everytime I came home he wanted a hug. I'm thinking maybe he is mimicking my son and I because I give my son a hug every morning before school and another when I come home from a jobsite.

Chopper hops on the couch next to me and keeps inching closer until I give her a snuggle. sometime this ends up with her in my lap and she far to big for that

ditto with bowser. Moxie needs me to kneel down and she puts her head on my shoulder, and wiggles her butt. Even if I just leave to take out the trash.. haha. I think it is more about getting close enough to smell you and see where you have been.

LOL - Sully does the same thing!!! He either has to put both his paws on my shoulders or I have to totally smother him in hugs and kisses before he'll leave me alone, lol.

Gracie will literly step on my heels, all the way to my room, run and jump on the bed and bounce around until I sit down, so she can sit in my lap, while I ask her "Were you a good girl today?" EVERYDAY, EVERYTIME I LEAVE....
