Took Duke to the vet yesterday for his first checkup (10 weeks old). The vet told us he looks really good/healthy and would see us in a couple weeks for his next round of shots. While there I asked him all sorts of questions (since I am new to owing a dog). I asked his opinion and what age we should neuter Duke - he told me to wait until 1 year old. He said EBDs develop much better if given the full 12 months to mature. He said they get fuller chests/shoulders, etc.

Was wondering how long you guys waited. He did mention that if he starts to get really rowdy and marks up the house we can do it earlier.

We did Tanners at 5 months old. He just had it done this past Friday. He is a boxer mix though and already weighs 58 1/2 pounds so I have a hard time believing it is going to stunt his growth anyway. But I don't know about the breed you have. We obviousy aren't showing Tanner or anything like that. He is just a spoiled family dog.

Buster is an American bull dog and he was done at 7 months.
My vet will only do this 6 months on up.

chance was done at 5 months as you can see it has not "hindered" his developement
