new & looking for info

Hi! I'm so happy to have found this site. I have been looking for info about the American Bulldog. We are the proud owners of a 4 1/2 month old male boxer (Abe). Now we are looking to adopt a second dog. We have come across a 1yr. old female Am. bulldog in a rescue shelter. She is supposed to be good with other dogs. Not sure about cats.

I only know what I have read so any advice or opinions would be helpful. We are looking for a dog that will be a good match for a boxer. If the Am. Bulldog is not it, then so be it. We'll keep looking. We want to give a dog a good home for a lifetime. Abe has been socialized, his best friend is a rescued pit bull, and he is in puppy class. He loves harass our cat, but our cat puts him in his place.

As for getting a bully breed as a second dog, you will have to remeber they can be animal agressive. If you currently exercise you dog in a dog park this will be not so for the bully, they should be kept on leash in public places and kept away from dog parks, they could be fine with all dogs, then the day will come when u meet another dominant dog! even two other dogs fighting will trigger a bully off to join in

Most ppl on here have two, and can give you some excellent views.

They are how ever adorable, lovable goofs to us humans!

Thanks for reply Roxy. The dog we were considering was adopted yesterday. Yay, for her. :) We'll continue to look for a rescue.

Good Luck on your search, it's really refreshing to hear people adopting, so many dogs need a good home! lets us know what u get...with pics :p
