...and to my love affair with my 'niece'; an American Staffordshire. We are taking care of her for my brother.
I know I am biased, but isn't she gorgeous?!

Any hints, tips, or information on her care is welcomed.

Thank you Kate and Leeann!

Thank you for the welcome!

I am glad you welcome questions - I already have a bunch :)

1 - My brother did not have her spayed and she is almost five. The vet we have seen recommends it, of course. Is it very painful for older dogs?
2 - I have only had male dogs in the past. What should I expect when the time rolls around?
3 - She is so docile now; will the surgery make her more aggressive? I don't want her mad at me...

:)

1. It might be slightly more painful but definitly get it done. The older she gets the higher chance she will have of many health problems. But they can give you extra pain meds for her.

2. I doubt there will be anything different in personality her as she gets older then how she is now.

3. Definitly not. Many times they say get your dog spayed/neutered before 1 yr of age to try to lessen aggression, but she is well past that age.

She should do just fine and she shouldnt change at all
