:D Hello to you all... i am new to this site, and would like to request some of your help?
We don't currently have a dog, but we are looking to get one. Not ina rush, when the right pup comes along we'll know!
I'll tell you a bit about us then maybe you could tell me your opinions please?
I have never had a dog, my husband was brought up with Alsations (GSD) we have two children, a daughter, age 4 1/2, and a son age almost 9.
We live in a small village in Essex, UK. We have a large garden, 160' and live near a woods, and fields.
I am at home all day, We have been disussing getting a dog for well over a year, and have decided this'll be there we get one. Now we have to decide on the breed. I want something not too big, but not a 'toy' dog. I dont want anything that sheds as much as a GSD, but i m happy to brush the dog every day, or every other day if necessary. I would like something i can treat as part of te family, to go with us pretty much everywhere, so has to be good with people. Easily trainable and not yappy, or too boisterous. My hubby wants a GSD or a Staffie.
My problem is that i have seen some Staffies that are gorgeous, and some that just look scary! Is there a variation on the type of Staff you buy?
I dont want one that is really broad and stocky, i quite like the ones that have longer legs, and 'prettier' faces.
Also i have been told that the skulls 'crack' as they get older and they get the more 'bull' face then? Is this true?
Any info would be much appreciated, i have checked as many websites as i can find.
Thanks!!

I can't answer your questions about staffies, but I wanted to welcome you to the board anyway. :D

There are a few staffie owners on the forum, so hopefully you will get the advice you are seeking. If you don't hear anything in a couple of days (the forum is kinda' slow on the weekend), send a PM to Link. He's a Swede who owns a beautiful staffie and is pretty knowledgable about the breed.

biscanton and Dueces mommy...your dogs are gorgeous!! Are they both American Bulldogs?
My son wants a bulldog so badly, but they are really really expensive in the U.K,
I have looked a the links sent to me, tying to read everything possible. its an important decision.
But i am so excited...cant wait to get my own pup!! Feel like a kid at Christmas!
