I'm really glad that you have solved the whining problem.
Now...you just need to be on top of the chewing thing so he can be better trusted out of his crate. I made sure to keep PLENTY of chew bones around so that if and when Lyla ever had anything that she wasn't to chew on, I simply took it away, and QUICKLY replaced it with a bone...she caught on quickly!!!!
