When we brought Sally home she had a cough too but not bad at all and vet didnt give her anything. Anyone have kennel cough turn into something worse???

I am pretty sure my Nala had kennel cough, so we had her on antibiotics to prevent her from getting pneumonia. She had that nagging cough and runny nose for a couple weeks, but then she was fine. (Except for the yeast infection from all the antibiotics! Still dealing with that.)

I've had kennel cough turn into pneumonia in an 8 week-old puppy. The whole litter got it - picked it up at their first adoption day at Petsmart. Everyone got better with no meds except Juliette. She spent 4 days in ICU. Definitely give those meds!
