We have had our ab for almost 2 months and the past month he has been peeing in the cage when we are gone. I don't know what we are doing wrong. Can anyone help me? BTW when he is in there for a long period of time I can understand, but for a couple of hours he shouldn't be going in his cage. Please help me!!

Your cage might be to big which is giving him the freedom to pee.Not sure if this is the case or not but thought I would throw that out there.

I thought of that. What are the measurements supposed to be for a cage?

YOU JUST WANT THE CAGE TO BE BIG ENOUGH TO LAY DOWN, AND TOO BE ABLE TO TURN AROUND IN IT. NO BIGGER.

Right about the above.You can buy what I call sections to make the size right or come up with something else to put in there for now.

I take Kate out to the bathroom immediatebly before I put her in her cage. Also, limit the amount of water they drink if you know you are going to be leaving soon

Wouldn't a UTI be a possibility as well? I know with a cat I had who had a UTI he just started peeing everywhere. Got him treated then he quit.

kate had a uti once... she peed over 8 times in a one block walk. that was a noticable amount of pee

Control

Also so pups take longer than other to get their control over their bladder fuctions. In my case halo took a little longer than my other one Spirit. make sure crate is right size like they said and also give him some time. Mine stopped and is doing well now
I had to take him out a little more often untill he gained control. As long as he is healhty with time he will be fine and it will stop
