POTTY TRAINING....
Okay I can't remember the last time I had to do this. Do I crate her only letting her out to eat, play and potty until we get a routine? She is peeing everywhere and poops right in front of me. She is a mess! HELP!!!!!!!!

This is what I did:

Eats : goes out
Plays: goes out
After nap: Goes out
Look at me funny : Goes out

I let Buster out every 20 minutes then worked it to every half hour then every hour.I got to know his schedule( if ya know what I mean ) Once you get there schedule down pat then you will know when they need to go out.The crate also worked well.

Good luck with her.She is a doll. How is Zena doing with her?

We did the combination of what Kelly did and the crate. If at any time we could not keep a constant eye on her, we put her in her crate. When I was fixing dinner, eating dinner, doing house work, laundry, on the computer, on the phone, into a good show on TV, leaving the house, etc. When we took her out of her crate, we immediately took her outside. It took a little bit to get to the point where we considered her fully trained (she was about a year old) but she does great now. She will either come and nose my elbow or sit at the door and bark to let me know that she needs to go out. Good girl. She gets treats for being this good.

id also surgest trying the bell training
hang a bell by the door
and everytime you take her out
you take her paw and have her ring the bell
she will learn that is how she is to tell you she has to go, sence AB's tend to not be very vocal
Biz is starting to do this on his on, Ring the bell to let us know he has to go out

I also use the bells and let me tell you Buster picked up quick as hell on this.He doesn't bark except when playing so if I were in the other room I couldn't hear him paw at the door or see him staring at the door like it would open on its on...lol so someone on here told me about the bells and every time I would take him out I say " Outside" which is his potty word and then grab his paw to tap the bells well he caught on the same day only he uses his nose to nudge them but it works and I can hear them from all over the house.Best thing I ever did.

I am having potty issues with Daisy. She goes out as soon as I pull her out of her crate, as soon as she gets up from a nap, a couple times right after eating, and after play. If tehre are any times in between where she is sniffing, I pick her up and we go out then also. After all of this, she still pees in her crate and all over the house. She could be in the middle of playing with a bone, or ball, or Kong, or anything right after a potty break, but the second I turn my head away she just leaves a puddle. I have caught her in the middle of it and she gets reprimanded and taken directly outside. She gets treats for going where she is supposed to. Daisy never poops in the house, just pees all the time. I can literally take her outside, she will go, and two minutes later inside, she will pee again. Am I doing something wrong, could she have a bladder infection, etc. I sure dont remember having this kind of issue with Chaucer. I got both of them at 6 weeks, and he was well on his way to being HB by 9 weeks, she is almost 11 weeks and only seems to be getting worse. :(

Nikita is the same way..I noticed that she is in a hurry to urinate and doesn't empty her bladder completely. I started letting her potty outside the praise her and bring her in a let her play a few minutes 15 max and then back out we go and she finishes. I think they have PLAY on the brain and are so excited to get out and have fun! They are puppies ya know!! LOL Good luck to us both cause I know I need it!

it also helps if you have special treats by the door, every time they go outside give them a treat. CC will do just about anything for a treat.

i have a quick question about the bells -

we're moving to a larger place, so i was thinking bells might be a good idea.
we're also moving closer to family, so do i get everyone a set of bells for their house? or will luna just instinctively rely on old ways to show me she has to go outside when we're somewhere other than home?
(also, she's about 1.5 yrs now...not too late to teach her, right?)
