I'm not sure if there is already a thread for this, but I have a question. How do you create shadows? I've noticed in some of the signatures, you were able to create a shadow. I can't seem to find this feature on my program (photoshop elements). Thanks for your help!

I have no idea, since I don't use Elements. I tried to search for a tutorial for you, but I'm not having any luck. I'll keep looking, and maybe I'll find something!

Down towards the bottom, it shows the Layer styles tab. There is a drop down on that menu for drop shadows.

YES!!! Oh my gosh! Thank you so much! I never even
noticed that pull down menu before. See, I'm just starting
to use these programs. I'm teaching myself how to do
it, so most of the time I have no idea what I'm doing. I just
experiment and try different things, but I could never figure
out how to do the shadow. Here is a sample I did. Yay!!!

Sad thing is in college i took a Adobe photoshop class.

I remember that one and the snow one. I loved them! I just found a yahoo group that has like a online free class that teaches you step by step on how to use photo impact. I am waiting for them to approve me. They tell you different things to make and then you make them and email them to them and then if they like it you go on, but if they think you can do better, you have to make it over and then after it is approved you go one. I can't wait. It is all free and sounds like it is made for dummies (when it comes to computers) like me. You might see if they have something like this for the program you are using.

That looks really cool Hausmommy! I figured out how to
do the image looping (animation), buy can't quite figure
out how you did that motion. :? Anyway, I've been
playing around with photoshop. I even tried that out
of bounds tip I found on a thread here. I also finally
figured out how to make black and white photos while
keeping one object colored.

If you need any help, let me know. I don't use Elements, but I'm sure it can't be all that different than Photoshop.

As for the above animation, it was a combination of 15 or 16 layers that were hidden and shown. Took me a while to get it right! And I animated it in Imageready.

So how did you capture just a few seconds of a video, i couldn't
figure it out.

For the video frames-I went to "file," "import," "frame from video."
Then you just capture frames.

I'm not sure if I did the b/w one correctly or used the best technique,
but this is what I did: using the magnetic lasso, I selected the flower.
Then right click to "select inverse." Then I went to "enhance," "adjust
color," and then "remove color." That worked for me. I'm having a hard
changing the color of something though. :?

Yeah, i had to make my own clip with pictures for my avatar.

What do you want the color changed of...the whole pic or just an item?
The Bogart head tilt make me laugh every time..still!! :lol:

Last one I bought was version 4, and there is a newer one for CS series of Adobe Photoshop.

And any questions you have, after a decade, if I can't answer it... I'll make up an answer. :twisted:
