Ok, so everyone says if the pup bites stop play and ignore him. Well u also say don't crate him as punishment. How do I ignore him without him keeping up the biting if i don't put him in the crate? He doesn't understand stop yet, so what do i do?

I always got up and walked away. Usually he would follow me, but I wouldn't pay attention to him for 2-3 minutes. Then I'd go back to playing with him until he nipped again. Repeat.
I know some people will disagree with me on this, but we also did the nose tap with Haus. The getting up and walking away worked with me, but not my fiance. If Haus would bite, we'd tap the top of his nose and tell him No! and give him a toy to chew on.

We did this with Bella, too, at the advice of her vet. We even did the whole clasping her mouth shut and growling "NO BITE" at her. None of it worked...it just made her more revved up. Haha. She was such a stinker when she was little.
I guess we got lucky. I can put my fingers in Haus' mouth now, and he will push them out with his tongue, or move his head. With Dennis though, it's a different story.
