TMP I hope to do exactly what you are doing after we get our house built and settled in. I know that it will save us a lot of money not having to go out and buy kibble and what not.

Anyone ever fed goat or horse? I am buying some from my raw supplier to feed the dogs, I need to add a little more variety and these are well priced.
Never fed either one. I will feed goats once we get get the house and everything built. But over here in the States it's illegal to slaughter horses and use them for human/animal consumption.

I agree with Tina. There is usually a "honeymoon" phase where things seem pretty good than one day... *BAM* they are holy terrors  But I would try cutting his food intake back to 2 cups, maybe 1 or 1.5 since you are adding chicken to his diet.

I think I've found a couple suppliers!! There are a few meat places around here that are willing to work with me! yay! Now if only I can find a freezer small enough to put into an apartment...

I can't believe how well Shelby is doing on the raw diet :D Her poops are so much better - they were really inconsistent on kibble, even TOTW.

I saw a small freezer somewhere but can't remember. so i googled small freezer and got lots of results.
I can't exactly afford a new one so I'm on the hunt for a used freezer. Plus it can't be huge since it will have to fit into an apartment so I'm looking for something around 10 cubic ft or smaller.

Porcupine? Okay to feed to dog? I headed up north in MN to do some hunting. I was super shocked, there was tons of porcupine up in the trees. It would be a super easy kill, because they'll not move. If it's okay to feed, I'll shoot a couple for the bully at home :) and skin them ;)
I would definitely have to look that up. I don't think they would taste to good to us but as far as raw for your dog I don't know that they would be harmful to feed. I would freeze it for a while though just to kill of some parasites that they probably have.
