Well first time for a non-well-health check up. She hit her nose on a display at Petsmart while rough housing with another puppy two weeks ago and I noticed a big knot on the top of her nose. Well Two weeks later and it has not gotten any better so kinda worried. If it is just a hematoma, does it take longer for the top of a dogs muzzle to heal???? It has definetly not slowed her down the least bit.

Awww...poor girl! Hematoma is a fancy word for bruise. It'll go down, just give her time. Glad she's alright.

Well just got back, she got a shot of methylprednisone (wish I knew that, could have got some from work and given it myself :lol: ) to help with the swelling. Vet said it was a formed clot and sometimes takes a LONG time to get re-absorbed and sometimes never goes down at which point the have to evacuate the clot (cosmetic only) Sheila looks like a boxer with a busted nose.

Well the swelling has gone down by half in two days :lol: She still has a bit of a knot, DANG bullies, tough as nails.
