She can play with the springpole as long as she isn't jumping, she needs to keep all four on the floor!
Why's that? is it bad for the jaw or teeth if she's up off her feet?
No, it's bad for the joints! Hips and knees can be damaged by the unnatural movement
of a dog being up on two feet, also the jarring can cause the still growing bones to misform
in their joints. None of those are things you want! I made my little girl a springpole and
just kept the rope low enough for her to tug and get used to the idea of playing with it and
now that she has hit a year old over the winter I will raise it up when spring comes so that
she can start jumping for it.

I use a spring pole that is mounted to the Pecan tree, my dogs mostly use it as a tug type toy.
The chew is hung about muzzle level. They really get a workout for their necks and rear ends

Only one of mine really expresses any interest in the jumping part anyway :?

I say 6months is a good start for spring pole, just not so extreme were the pup has to jump so high. At 3months my pup started chasing his toy while I tug on a rope to build up his drive. Then by six months I started him with mild spring pole. Now on Sunday he just turned 1 year old. His doing great on his spring pole but now for him to use his spring pole its more like his reward because I am getting him started on his OB and Protection work for sch1. :D

Good Luck!!!!

Shoot...Gunner has been jumping since he was 20lbs. Loves climbing onto things and as much as we try to keep him from jumping.....he does it. Kinda sketchy to think he could be damaging or already damaged his bone/joints. Any signs I should be looking for?
From experience:

Toro used to run and jump fine but I noticed once he stopped and stand still he used to raise slightly his rear left leg.

Until to a point where he would not put weight on it but only when he was standing.

I never thought too much of it because he was running and jumping fine.

I was wrong. After a vet visit for a different issue, the vet pointed out that he hurt his CCL.
