Tomorrow is the day my Dixie and Daizy go in to be spayed.
I am so scared. Not so much for Dixie, but mostly for Daizy. I know Dix will be fine. Daizy, I am scared about.
I have heard contricting diagnosis about whether or not the anesthesia will effec her wrong or not. I have heard that because of her disability, it will set her back to where she was when she developed this problem. But the nuerologist insists that is not true.
What do I do if she wakes up a vege? I will absolutly die.
But if I dont spay her, she will have to be crated for up to a month when she bleeds, and that also sets her back.

Please pray for my girls tonight, pray hard, because I dunno what I will do if something happens to them.

Don't sweat it....

We were nuts just last week about Janie going in and getting spayed.

But it was fiiiine....as a matter of fact, when I picked her up she was wagging her tail, rolling around on the floor and being her old self.

Both Daizy and Dixie seem much better today! Thank the good LORD for taking care of them!

I elected to have both spays done laser, so there was no bleeding (yet) and healing time is supossed to be much faster.

When we arrived I insisted on sitting down with both vets and explaining Daizys condition, after they decided to put her on the table first for the day, this way she had alllll day to wake up and start to recover under the vets supervision.

We dropped them off at 9 a.m. and picked them up at 430p.m..

Both Dixie and Daizy reportedly threw up their food while under anesthesia(sp?) which I do not understand. The vet was angry when he called us, as he almost accused us of feeding them in the morning!! I fed them the day before at 5p.m. and they didn't have a single kibble or drop of water since!
My guess is that, here where we moved they dont sell Nutro Large breed puppy food, so last week I switched them to Purina One Lamb and Rice, because the ingredients looked good, not much filler and glucosamine like the Nutro, they compared...anyway, I am figuring that since it was new food, it did not digest as fast, and being lamb and rice, it is richer and may take longer.

Anyway, they both threw up all nght last night, but seem great today. Daizy is restricting her movement alot, because she is sore, Dixie is grumpy and doesnt want anyone other then Daizy next or anywhere around her. She let Chocy know that this morning!!!Lol. No more puking, and they are getting and ice cube every hour or so to chew up until they are settled enough to actually drink and I will feed them alittle tonite.

Thanks for your prayers, I think they will be just fine. I have seen Daizy walk and such and the surgery did not set her back. TG!

Great to know they are doing well! I also feed Purina One Lamb & Rice to my two, and they've done great with it. I've heard some say it's not a good food, but I've not had any problems with it, and they've had it for at least 6 months now... :D
