Just wondering what your type of dogs are if you dont mind me asking..Lisa said:Asian, thank you for clarifying about RE dogs. That clears up ALOT.
You enjoy your type of dogs and I'll enjoy mine.
Have a nice day.
I was thinking more like breed specific..Lisa said:420puffer said:Just wondering what your type of dogs are if you dont mind me asking..Lisa said:Asian, thank you for clarifying about RE dogs. That clears up ALOT.

Character, attitude, substance, balls, independence, drive, nerves to sum it up for you.Of course all with a sound, stable mind. Ya I am a bit picky..lol.
i agree.. am staffs are in no way shorter.. But they may be a little bit bigger boned. The only difference between the two is that APBT are bred for game pit ring and am staffs are bred for the show ring. My mutt is neither not a pure am staff or apbt.. It is not one of the short stocky ones either. He is about 21 " at the shoulder. That is quite tallPitBullRoyalty said:AmStaffs ARE NOT short and wide, why do people think that?
Here is the AKC standard for the American Staffordshire Terrier
http://www.akc.org/breeds/american_staffordshire_terrier/index.cfm
You CAN NOT compare them to low riders such as this one:
The standard for an AmStaff says around 20 inches at the withers for a male and 19 for a female.
That is not short at all, there are some that are even taller.
Another thing that they have in common. I think bella looks more like a pure APBT than Tyson does. Tyson is thick n fat. Trying to get his weight down.Leeann.Bella.Remy said:That's how tall Bella is. 21 inches tall and about 63 pounds. If she were a little shorter and kept the same proportions, I think she'd be a pretty nice little APBT. But, we're pretty sure she's a mutt, anyway.420puffer said:i agree.. am staffs are in no way shorter.. But they may be a little bit bigger boned. Amstaffs may still have the dog aggression, just lost the game. Dog aggression is not the same as gamePitBullRoyalty said:I agree, AmStaffs are bigger boned but I would in no way consider them short and wide.
A correct AmStaff is of perfect proportion, they don't even have huge heads like some of these dogs.
Amstaffs mixed with pits.. I don't even consider them mutts, AKC amstaffs are usually UKC APBTs.
Who cares that most of the dog aggression was bred out of the AmStaff, I wouldn't mind if it all disappeared.
Exactly.. there is no way to put a pit to the "game " test anyway because its illegal in the U.S. and some other countriesPitBullRoyalty said:I meant that most of the "pit fighting" has been bred out so they are more likely to have low dog aggression in their
genes. I still consider them "game" though, they still have that no quit attitude in the other sports they compete in.
They excel in most of what a pit can excel in, maybe not pit fighting but who needs that anyway?
LOL.
The 1st leash was chewed up because my gf's brother was watching him and decided to leave him tied to the fence for a bit in the backyard. The 2nd leash broke at the clip. I had to get a leash yesterday so I could walk him, not like I could wait to purchase it online. If I did, I would have got the one that Marty has on game-dog. Don't come at me with your negative assumptions womanLisa said:There are plenty of quality leather leashes available if you look around. Forget about the pet stores and go online and look up some working dog suppliers. Or hit a Schutzhund trial or other working dog event where they have vendors selling the good stuff. You can not beat a good quality, soft leather lead. There is a reason why all the best trainers use this type of equipment. They allow you the most control. If anyone of you ever showed up at a Working Pitbull event with one of those chain leashes you would be laughed right off of the trial grounds.
Resorting to a chain leash because your dog chewed apart another one is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. Ever hear of teaching your dog NOT to chew the leash? What are you people doing? Are you leaving your dogs alone with their leashes on or something? Or can you just not be bothered to stop the chewing behaviour? GEEZ
Lisa, I apologize for calling you woman. I did not make up an excuse to buy one.. But rather stating the reasoning for purchasing one. Maybe others who use a chain leash because of a similar situation to mine? The employee at the pet store did recommend the chain over the leather leash btw. Maybe I shouldn't have listened to him. I was going to purchase the leather one. But the one thing I am satisfied with is that the chain leash really has no weak link.Lisa said:420puffer,
I have a name. Please show some respect and use it. No need calling me "woman" because you didn't like what I said about leasher leashes.
There is one reason why people use chain leashes. They use them to look cool. You may have been stuck and had no other option but in most cases it is the cool factor plain and simple. My dog ate the leash is just a big excuse. Chain leashes offer you absolutely no control over your animal whatsover. Therefore there is no reason other than looks for using one. Ask any trainer what they think of chain leashes and they will laugh at you. Trust me.
hahahhahhaha :lol:OrsonDogge said:I bought a chain leash for my RIP old english sheepdog...it
was purple and small chain tho. Made her look "tough"
Actually i got it cause it was purple and matched her purple choke
I've had people move to other side of street cause they are scared of this
goofy, looking happy puppy. Some people just dont know!!
Imagine how scared they'd be if i had him on some huge chain and
spiked collar? They are scared when he's wearing his backpack!!

Even though I'm not a fan myself of the short stocky pitbull I still feel no need to go off on the owner of one. Whatever floats their boat...if that's what they like then so be it. Personally, I think Tyson is a very good looking boy. He looks great compared to some of the others I've seen.Let people own and post pictures of whateverfucking dog they want to own and post pictures of.. geeeesus...enough with the hating.
