A correct AmStaff is of perfect proportion, they don't even have huge heads like some of these dogs.
Amstaffs mixed with pits.. I don't even consider them mutts, AKC amstaffs are usually UKC APBTs.

I meant that most of the "pit fighting" has been bred out so they are more likely to have low dog aggression in their
genes. I still consider them "game" though, they still have that no quit attitude in the other sports they compete in.
They excel in most of what a pit can excel in, maybe not pit fighting but who needs that anyway?

I'd rather they breed all dog aggression out of the genes, that way you could socialize them well and
almost never have to worry about them attacking another dog out of the blue. Most of the other breeds
aren't used for what they were once, why do people still insist the pit bull retain their dog aggression?

I think the reason behind this is because they want to keep the breed true to its roots. They were originally bred for dog fighting just like staffordshire bull terriers. I believe that these new breed bullies are much less dog aggressive like my mutt. Tyson is extremely dog friendly, but if he feels as if he is challenged, he will not back down. So I guess it gives more options. -REal GAME BRED APBT, -am staffs, and the bullies
I bought a chain leash yesterday. Why? Because they didnt have any leashes at this pet specialty store (not petsmart/petco) that was strong. I went through 2 leashes from petco that broke. 1 got chewed up. the other broke at the link. The clip was made out of aluminum and it just snapped. the spring popped out.
There are plenty of quality leather leashes available if you look around. Forget about the pet stores and go online and look up some working dog suppliers. Or hit a Schutzhund trial or other working dog event where they have vendors selling the good stuff. You can not beat a good quality, soft leather lead. There is a reason why all the best trainers use this type of equipment. They allow you the most control. If anyone of you ever showed up at a Working Pitbull event with one of those chain leashes you would be laughed right off of the trial grounds.
Resorting to a chain leash because your dog chewed apart another one is the most ridiculous thing I have heard. Ever hear of teaching your dog NOT to chew the leash? What are you people doing? Are you leaving your dogs alone with their leashes on or something? Or can you just not be bothered to stop the chewing behaviour? GEEZ :roll:

I'm really surprised people are letting this bother them so much. It's HIS dog, HIS leash, HIS life. Let it go, people... let...it...go.

The 1st leash was chewed up because my gf's brother was watching him and decided to leave him tied to the fence for a bit in the backyard. The 2nd leash broke at the clip. I had to get a leash yesterday so I could walk him, not like I could wait to purchase it online. If I did, I would have got the one that Marty has on game-dog. There is one reason why people use chain leashes. They use them to look cool. You may have been stuck and had no other option but in most cases it is the cool factor plain and simple. My dog ate the leash is just a big excuse. Chain leashes offer you absolutely no control over your animal whatsover. Therefore there is no reason other than looks for using one. Ask any trainer what they think of chain leashes and they will laugh at you. Trust me.

Maybe others who use a chain leash because of a similar situation to mine? The employee at the pet store did recommend the chain over the leather leash btw. Maybe I shouldn't have listened to him. Keep in mind, pet store employees are NOT trainers. Most of them really have no clue about what is good equipment and what is crap. In fact, you would be hard pressed to find ANY quality equipment at a pet store. Seriously, if you want some good stuff check out these links. Nylon is ok too but for training purposes leather is best. Bar none.

was purple and small chain tho. Made her look "tough" :lol:

I've had people move to other side of street cause they are scared of this
goofy, looking happy puppy. Some people just dont know!!
Imagine how scared they'd be if i had him on some huge chain and
spiked collar? They are scared when he's wearing his backpack!! :shock:
