Does anyone feed diamond lamb and rice? If so how do your dogs do on it?

I feed Diamond Naturals Lamb Meal and Rce to our dogs that don't have a problem with grain. It is inexpensive and they do great on it. I really don't know which grain(s) our AB has a problem with but she does great on both of the grain free foods tha I have fed her.

We are switching today. We have been feeding Natures Recipe lamb and rice but it is 28 for 20 pound bag and we have two Oeb's so we are trying this. I hope it works for them.

Recall is limited to around a dozen states but everyone who feeds the formula should check the codes on their bags. The codes are availble on the Diamond site. I am in no way compensated by the company ,but this does not scare me away from feeding it. They learned their lesson in a big way a few years ago.

I'm not so worried about the recall itself but since they had to stop production TOTW hasn't been available and I'm sure their other products will follow suit.
You make a good point. TSC is the only place to buy it around here and they have it for five bucks off a bag next week. Sure that some rainchecks are on tap. Off topic but what flavor is your biggest seller? Our dog strongly prefers the wetlands.

Wetlands is by far my biggest TOTW seller. Orijen and Acana are my biggest sellers over all, my sales are about $30,000 per month with them. I'm telling my staff not to lean towards their products when other foods aren't available as I don't want to put all of my eggs in one basket ;)

Wow. We feed our dogs Natural's Lamb and Rice formula. We are actually going to run out of dog food tomorrow and will need more for Monday! I hope we can find it, but it doesn't mention the great state of Nebraska as being one of the states involved.
Thanks for the heads up!

We feed this to both of our dogs and they are both doing well, even the rescue Heeler that needed a "Special Food"
As Paul mentioned though, I guess there is a recall on it. I'll be watching this too!

As far as I know it's only it's more of a concern with human handlers, a healthy pet should be fine. Here is the FDA codes and dates:

As far as I know we aren't affected in Canada but I haven't been receiving products, I'm told all should be back to normal next week.

High Prairie (yellow bag / bison) is by far the most popular selling flavor for us. Wetlands is second

Diamond Pet Foods Expands Voluntary Recall to Include One Production Run
of Diamond Puppy Formula due to Possible Salmonella Contamination
Customer Contact: 800-442-0402

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE – April 30, 2012

Diamond Pet Foods is expanding a voluntary recall to include one production run of Diamond Puppy Formula dry dog food. The company took this precautionary measure because sampling revealed Salmonella in the product. No dog illnesses have been reported.
Salmonella can affect animals eating the products and there is risk to humans from handling contaminated pet products, especially if they have not thoroughly washed their hands after having contact with the products or any surfaces exposed to these products.
People infected with Salmonella should monitor themselves for some or all of the following symptoms: nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, abdominal cramping and fever. Rarely, Salmonella can result in more serious ailments, including arterial infections, endocarditis, arthritis, muscle pain, eye irritation, and urinary tract symptoms. Consumers exhibiting these signs after having contact with this product should contact their healthcare providers.
Pets with Salmonella infections may be lethargic and have diarrhea or bloody diarrhea, fever, and vomiting. Some pets will have only decreased appetite, fever and abdominal pain. Infected but otherwise healthy pets can be carriers and infect other animals or humans. If your pet has consumed the recalled product and has these symptoms, please contact your veterinarian.
