So I'm confused - if you are saying dogs can handle salmonella...then why are they recalling the food for salmonella?Bingo!

I could be wrong but I think because it is dangerous for the humans who may touch the food?

There has already been 14 or more deaths reported of people who have
handled these dog foods.
You Is rightI am in no way defending the Diamond company but there have been 14 people reported as becoming ill and of those 5 have been hospitalized. As of May 8, there have not been any deaths reported.

Raw is pretty easy to feed. You can pre-measure everything in advance so all you have to do is pull out a bag of whatever and give it to the dog. I don't do that anymore, but I just pull out a package of whatever and defrost it for a little bit in the micro. Then weigh it out and feed. I have 2 dogs that get two different amounts so it will be so much easier for one.Man I feel totally boggled when it comes to dog food. I want to change Chumley's but there are so many varieties that all seem good, and now there are recalls to worry about. Maybe I should try raw. But I hate preparing food, even for myself...I keep the local delivery places in business. Too bad there's not like RAW meals on wheels for dogs.
They make pre-made raw but it can be pretty pricey.Man I feel totally boggled when it comes to dog food. I'm glad they decided to open a factory, the timing was bad bad for them but I still think they make great kibble diets. I hate when companies go "big" too but you can't blame them for wanting to turn a large profit.merrick is a little pricier but its a family company and they make grain free. i feed the wilderness blend and mine do well on it.
when i fed canidae years ago they were a great company, nice small family owned.. why they went all big and commercial is beyond me, they used to be so good..
