I am considering possibly adopting this dog. What do you all think of her? I think she is a pure bred SBT..

BTW.. her nipples look sort of big, she is only about 10 months to a year old, and the vet said he doesn't think she had a litter, is this normal for the dogs nipples to be that large? She got spayed about a month or two ago.

Their nipples can increase in size when they've been in heat previously or are going into heat....she looks ADORABLE!

Gypos nipples are rather large but thats coz she has been over breed! (not by me)

I haven't met her yet but she is supposed to be very very well tempered.

this dog was rescued from a kill shelter in NC, when they first got her, she had a big V carved into her head, her name used to be 'Vickie' and the prior owners carved that into her head, but now the hair grew back so you can't see it. Some people are just bastards!

also, see how big her nipples are here... maybe she was in heat and hadn't been spayed yet? will they go back in you think now that she is spayed?

I'm not trying to be rude, but you seem a bit too concerned about her "nipples". If she's a good dog, if she's healthy and has a sound temperament then go for it. Don't worry about the size of her nipples.

do you think a dog that was abused this early on is going to be nasty or always have some sort of issue with people touching her head?

I don't know about others but I believe if you get a dog that had a bad life, abused, more times than not, they know when they have it good. They know what bad home really means, so they are happy when they have it good.

and that sick son of a ... that did that to her poor head needs shot!

I was thinking the same thing. You're rescuing her, so you're not showing her, she doesn't need to conform to standard. If she's healthy and even tempered, then go for it. The size of her nipples isn't going to affect her temperment. As for the abuse part, I have a dog that was rescued from awful conditions. She has scars all over her belly and is missing a part of her tongue. She is the sweetest dog, and very grateful for anything that you give her.

yeah my friend who has gotten dogs from pounds before said that when you bring the dog home from the pound they are like the happiest things going, it's like they really know you are doing them good and they are loyal to you for it.

another dog I am interested in was with a rescue group called "11'th Hour" and she was with a foster mom. Well the fosture mom gave her back because she was a little too rough with the young children in the house and now she is in a pound somewhere. Why the heck would somebody be a foster parent then give the dog back to a pound, makes no friggen sense. I feel so bad for some of these animals. This is the one that I am referring too.. she is a lab/SBT mix and weighs about 60lbs

But regarding the nipple thing, they do go down, Roxy's did.

do you think a pure bred is worse than gettting like a lab/sbt mix when it comes to health issues, temperment, etc.?

the dog V is adorable, just make sure her temperment is what its supposed to be.
