If she was old enough I would recommend a prong collar. I think around 9 months to a year is a good age to start with a prong. But for right now in your situation I would probably recommend a harness. My pup was killing me recently walking him on a collar but I switched him over to a harness. He will still pull, but not as much and it is alot easier to handle. Plus it is more difficult for them to get out of if it is put on correctly.

For training I would use a choke right now.

But, that being said, I do not think 6 months is too young for a prong collar if you know how to use it correctly.
