Not a problem Lisa. Hopefully we can get back to you giving advice.

PS. Off topic, but for some reason I thought you were from the UK. I dunno why?

Furthermore, there was profanity and "flaming" or verbally abusive references toward Lisa in AllAmericanPup's post up there, but no one deleted that. I'm not saying we SHOULD... I still believe she can speak her mind. And even though Tracey, Lisa, and I have probably all had our share of differences, I value everyone's thoughts. My point is that we can't pick and choose whose post we delete and whose we keep by how much we like them. You have to maintain some consistency, or it just isn't fair.
I'm just reading this now.... so I think this post should be reread by a few people. I don't think it should be deleted, but the whole reason that lisa's post was deleted in the first place are the same things that are being said in that post (by allamericanpup)

Oh and allamericanpup... you can edit your own post no matter how long it was posted... so if you regret saying something... just go edit it yourself

Well if i may make a comment/suggestion to the mods.

Not sure if you guys have a MOD room, if not maybe root can make one. In my experience, mods going back and forth in the public eyes only causes much more drama. Things like this situation could be talked out between mods in private so noones toes got stepped on. Weve had some serious wars on my forum break out between 30-40 mods and it gets ugly, and just causes problems on the forum in general.

In regards to the current situation, Hausmommy made the call, thats it. This place isnt a democracy, Mods and Admins make the calls.....period.

As for deleting posts, Ive never been a big fan of that. If someone is out of line...I would send them a pm and ask them to edit their comments. If they didnt, then I would.

Im not trying to tell anyone how to do their job, Im just giving some friendly advice from someone who deals with this type of thing daily with over 22,000 members.

Looks like a classic case of "too much Chiefs and not enough Indians".

Moderators should be fair in all aspects (unbias) and insure that the Registration Agreement Terms are met. That's all.

In case the moderators and members forgot:
You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit.

It seems folks don't like what Lisa says but in all honesty, she speaks the truth. Just because it's not sugar coated doesn't make it harsh. I call it blunt but definitely not harsh. One can only react on of two ways: 1) the right way 2) the wrong way. Take heed to what's been said or get "butt hurt" because it wasn't said pretty enough.

I remember a certain member posted a thread trying to "warn" us from another member that was allegedly a "dog fighter" on another forum. Gladly he was proven wrong. His intentions were soley to defame this woman in a public forum with absolutely no proof and that member is still here today.

It's going to be interesting to see how this forum evolves with the amount of moderators we have. I missed the thread before it got edited but Lisa is a long standing member of the forum and she's sure as hell knows to admit fault if indeed she did. I'd hate to see her leave or banned because she's blunt. But remember, she has not breached the forum rules like others have and are still on the board.

The smileys got changed when we switched over. I did a thread of the old ones :) Yes, I uploaded them one by one to a photobucket account. Alf added some to it as well. Here is the thread though:

In reply to E-Dogg,
Lisa is not going to be banned or leave(at least I hope not). Hopefully this has been resolved. This is a newer forum and there are issues that are going to arise.

Forgive me for coming into this thread as I did not have any involvement in it, but I felt a need to express this; this forum has always reminded me of a family. In a family you have many different personalities and some will relate better to each other than others, but the bottom line is that when the chips are down everyone is there to help because first and foremost, no matter what, family is family. All of you have come to mean something special to me and I love all of your personalities be they very tender or very blunt and the reason is that all of you love your dogs so much that are you willing to put your thoughts on the line to get the advice or help that you need for your dog. Lisa is full of passion for the breed and I love that because she is our watch dog for the very best care given to the breed. Kogeki is as honest as they come. No matter what and without fear, he will state what he feels is fair. HausMommy, you are a sweetheart and your love for this forum shows in all that you do for it. I agree with Sennin, a Mod Room would be best for Moderators to discuss a decision just because it should be private and then the joint decision can be made. We all have different ways of handeling a situation and it does help to get other opinions. I also agree that we should leave the swearing and name calling off the forum. Perhaps in a situation such as this, the posts in question could have been copied and posted in the training section for the topic to be continued by those who wished to continue it and those people informed of the move. I do understand that people going to the photo section are there for fun and not for in depth subjects. Another thought could be a section for "In Depth Discussions". This could be a place where people can feel more free to state their opinion and really discuss a topic as long as the forum rules are followed. The old saying of "let's take it outside" could pertain to the proposed section. At any rate, I do not want to see anyone leave, or feel not wanted - because, believe me, I want and need you all. Shake hands and have a Happy New Year. Pat :D

Wow...this spiraled out of control very quickly. I have no problem whatsoever with Lisa voicing her concerns, but when she starts making assumptions about me (that I force my dog to play with other dogs, that I expect her to get along with every dog she meets, etc.), I just don't think a public forum is the place to do it. Yeah, I may need to "have a thicker skin," but this forum should also be somewhat of a safe place for compassionate bully owners to congregate.

Anyway...I'm sorry for all of the hostility my request to Tasha caused!! Can't we all just get along, despite our differences in opinions?

I'm just trying to catch up, but GOD this shit gets old. Delete posts with curse words, otherwise, leave it be and lock the thread if necessary. People have such thin skin, but OTHER people DO feel the need to degrade everyone else. Lets just be smart and sensitive about our posts!

wow ... took some reading lol....sorry didn't get to see what got deleted.

But....Lisa is like part of the furniture here...she has taken as much as she has given, and is still here to give us good advice :) (i hope)

Def think we need a mod only area, so hot topics can be discussed first. But any swearing will be removed, also if the authour wishes for the post to be deleted, I will do so. I'm hoping to be about a bit more!

wow

Take a couple of weeks off watching this space and things get interesting.
I cant spend as much time on here as I'd like, so i dont really know how valid it is to make a comment... but here goes. In response to the original topic, I too had a post deleted some time ago by a moderater who asked me to pm him if i was to question his motives in deleting my post (which I had done in the forum). Shouldnt he pm me and ask me to remove said post? As it happens I believe he felt that my post was in personal response to his post agreeing with sexist remarks made by another member, and felt the need to remove it for his own sake.
There are alot of moderaters with varying opinions here, which is important, but the ability to remove anyone else's opinion needs to be pre-empted by a discourse (whether it be public or private) between more than one moderater. Well that's what i think.
And back to the dogs...which is why we're all here.

WOW!! Personally (sorry to bring up an old thread as well) I completely agree with you E-dogg. Lisa is HONEST! Majority of the time, people do not care to hear the truth and the fact remains sometimes THE TRUTH HURTS. I joined the other forum before it was here, over a year ago, check in periodically here, and totally agree with the NOW "too many chiefs" statement...
However, it is imperative for someone actually knowledgeable such as Lisa and the VERY FEW others to correct the "incorrect information/advice"!!! No one will ever learn the real truths and the real FACTS about breeds, and how to properly train/breed/etc. if all the "advice" is given incorrectly by someone who has no clue as to what they are talking about, yet thinks they "know" just because they have a pet and hey "it worked for them". I for one applaud you Lisa for your efforts and feel that you say things much more professionally and NICER then sometimes I would even be able to myself.

Yes, that was me. I asked that if you have questions regarding our actions, pm or email us instead of starting an argument on the public board. The posts I deleted were ones that were WAY off topic and were insulting to more than a few of the people on here, not to mention children can come on here also. And, for you to AGAIN question my motives on the public forum after I asked you not to, AND accuse me of deleting them for my own sake, I find that very disappointing. I didn't say anything that needed deleted, however, about five other people did. Get your facts straight. I know I'm far from perfect and have even accidentally cursed on the board, but I'm trying my best.

I also disagree with the "too many chiefs" reference. There are, what, 5 moderators? And, I can't even get on here all that often most of the time. People just need to relax and take care of personal problems with the person/people involved. If you're offended, tell that person directly, don't get the whole board in on it. We all need to grow up a little bit here.
