Ziggy was back at the vets getting another check over, they've decided that it's not Demodex mange after doing skin scrapings and finding nothing. Now they reckon it could be an allergy, the poor little guy has got to get a skin biopsy then blood tests if that doesn't show anything. Until then we've got to keep him off of grass (they think that could be causing the problem). The itching is driving him crazy so we are using a childs anti rash cream to sooth him but we feel so sorry that he can't have a normal puppy life. Has anyone else had similar problems, if so how did you cure your dog.

hi andrew ive got a stafford he had demedox mange all his fur came out he had sores all over him
hes cured now he still has a go at scratching to the point he makes himself bleed
it seems when they reach 1 year there imuned system kicks in and they are suppose to be able to handle it better
i do hope your puppy gets better soon its hard to see them scratching all the time

I would try Solid Gold Seameal, it's supposed to increase the immune system and help with skin problems.

Also make sure you aren't feeding him anything with wheat or corn in the ingredients.
Only feed your dog top quality dogfood with no by products or artifical anything.
Most of the dogs that come in our grooming place with bad skin are being fed Science Diet. :roll:

CC has alot of allergies, I had to change her food, And I give her baths with an oatmeal shampoo. she also had a reaction to nylon collars, so I had to get a leather collar and I take that off at night so that it doesn't bother her. I also give her bynadrill(SP) when she gets real ichy.
