Somehow you turned it into "I let a child grab my dog's tail HARD and {the I let the child pick the dog up by its tail over his/her head and swing it around in circles}."
Where did I say "swing the dog around in circles?" I said pull the dogs tail and lift it off the ground. PeterC did not say anything to correct me for my interpretation of his statement.
Lifting the dog off of the ground didn't come up until you said it.

If that is not what he does, I apologize from the quote "I let a small child grab my dog's tail HARD and swing it." I myself, among others, assumed that meant picking it up off of the ground. And he did not correct me. Others interpreted it the same way because I received multiple PMs about this. Regardless, that does not change my opinion. But, again, I apoloize if I was wrong.

I'll tell you what. I would be suprised if ANY dog would refrain from biting if someone picked it up off of the ground by the tail. LOL I'd say at that point the dog would be defending itself. OUCH. :D

I mean, you didn't say it in so many words and maybe I embellished it, but describing it as brutal and demented and sick and all the other adjectives you used made your opinion pretty clear.

Honestly, if a dog can't take getting its tail pulled on by a child - especially a bully breed, for those who claim to worry so much about BSL - what should be done with it? The only way to make sure with 100% certainty that it NEVER bites is to put it down, period. That can be said of any dog, no matter how stable, of course, but if the genetic propensity to fear bite is there I think it is perfectly reasonable that any serious breeder would put the dog down.

When i get a puppy i shoot off .22 in the yard while they are tugging on rags. etc.. I do it in their room etc.. GUN SHYNESS IS GENETIC. i want to make sure when i get that puppy it isnt going to be scared from that gun shot. If i ever got a puppy that was i would return it back to the breeder. Any weak dog to be is a liability and should be put to sleep. Pets or working dogs i dont care. People have to releize if they would buy from good breeders, which are testing their dogs temperment (not byb) culling wouldnt have to be done so much!!. Buy from a good breeder that tests their puppies. I had Boris at 9 weeks old in the woods with me and my husband we were shooting Partridge and he was right beside us. Never flinched. Got a reward. Never had a problem. Now when he hears a gun he gets happy. As far as testing a dog, keeping the child safe during the test and finding out the dogs temperament ...do whatever you think is right. I find ALOT of what peter says good information but also like LISA said we are all different and aren't all going to agree. Some people on this board need to stop reading so much and not assuming and take the post for how its written. My dog Casper would let kids take his lips and bring them both up to his nose while they came close and kissed him. He was always great. Never had a problem. But i tell you the first little growl ever would have came out. ..... I love a confident, nothin gbothers them puppy. I love getting a puppy biting on a rag while your on the ground clattering a clatter stick and later getting up and shooting off the gun and the puppy coming up running excited and happy to be with you no matter whats going on
I always enjoy Peters posts. Dont always agree.....but its better then some threads!
