erica your last comment was informative and not offensive at all, but the first one just wasnt needed. Also i am not sayin the other techniques are wrong, but i will say the technique i used, which my vet approved, is not wrong or not as good. My dog didnt respond to positive reinforcement alone, he would stare me in the face and pee in front of me no matter where it was. I changed my way to what i said and he stopped goin in the house.. He isnt gun shy outside, isnt affraid of me in any way, and definately not aggessive, i dont see how it was wrong. This is my first bully but i have been around puppies my entire life, im not a rookie to this.

I agree with Carrie's comments. IMO if a puppy is eliminating in the house it is because it is being given too much freedom. You can't expect a whole lot from a puppy that age so if you are unable to watch it closely, crate him and each time he is taken out he goes IMMEDIATELY outside! Crating will eliminate all your problems.

I have to agree about the to much freedom.Like the others said start from the beginning. With buster we would and still do let him outside after eating, playing, napping, sleeping & right when he comes out of the crate&before we leave the house as well.If you are busy doing something and cant watch him in the crate he goes in until you are able to keep an eye on him. With Buster if I am doing house work or wash or whatever it may be I put him in the crate until I am able to keep full attention on him. When he( deuce) starts to go in the house with a loud voice say NO then put his little behind outside.Whatever word you use say it to him and in a loud stern voice like with buster I say outside and he heads towards the back door.I also trained him to ring bells that I have hung from the front door and back door cause he wont bark to let me know he needs to go out( he isn't much of a barker) so he goes up and rings the bells and I can hear them from any room in the house and when I get to the door were he is I say "Outside" and he gets all excited cause he knows. He picked up on the bell training in one day.It really worked wonders for me cause I couldn't hear him paw at the door and since the bells he is now fully housebroken.Good luck!!!!

Deuce is on a leash now when inside the house. As for him not listening, we are working with a trainer. She said she is a little worried about him b/c of his biting. It isn't agressive, but is constant. She worked with him for a while and gave me some tips. She said work with him for a few weeks and see how it goes. She said if it doesn't get better in a few weeks she would like to do some 1 on 1 with him. She has a boxer and 2 apbt. She is really good with Deuce. Wish me luck. He is a little better than when we got him, but he still has issues that we will probably be dealing with for the rest of his life.

Harley is 13 months old I have had her for 5 of them. She had a few accidents when we first got her but even now we have a routine. When I get up in the morning she gets out of her crate and we immediately go outside. She is then out for about an hour or so then I have to leave for work.

If my boyfriend does not have to work when he gets up she gets out of the crate goes out to potty again. And if she needs to go before I get home she goes again etc.

When I get home about 3PM if she is in her crate I let her out and take her outside to go potty.

Everytime she is in the crate when she is let out I take her outside.

Another thing you can do if possible is start taking her out after she eats or every hour or so.
