This color pattern is occasionally seen in ABs. Typically it is only on the face. Red with black edging. I have had pups with the light red pied or saddle, with dark edging that eventually faded.

It might explain the extra-large nature of this family of APT.

Haven't you seen the pedigrees of it's parents before you purchased him?
You should have..
Pedigrees are just fonts on papers , PBR. If it was important I would have been flaunting my dogs pedigree whenever you guys tell me my dog is not American Pitbull (BAM!!)
What?..
:?

Anywho, peds are important if you want to know where your dog is coming from. Sure if you rescue a dog it doesn't matter but if I'm paying good money for a dog I want to see at least three generations. I know alot of peds are lies, no need to tell me that.

There is no such recognized color as fawniquin.
Actually that is not exactly true how ever it is not a recognized color for pitbulls. Great danes have a fawniquin it is kinda a mixture of fawn and harlequin, it looks like a harlequin but what should be black markings is fawn however as unique of a color as your dog is I would not call it fawniquin, below is a pic of a great dane that is fawniquin.

They sent the papers in for pedigree and transfer of ownership, but it still should have said what color the dog was before they sent it in and it wasn't fawniquin. I'm wondering what it said on the paperwork? It should tell you what color your dog is. Of course its not always right, but its at least something other then asking people what the dog is. If I were to reg the dog I would have put White w/ Buckskin patches/gray ticking

The OP's pup's markings are more exaggerated than this dogs, but similar. I didn't take much time looking for more photos. I did some extensive research on Frenchies, my husband and I were going to get one before we got the EB, we may still get one... they are just so darn cute! This is my favorite color of Frenchie, not too common, but not super rare. I have no idea about the colors in the pedigrees when this color presents in a litter....

I correct my post earlier, Fawn Pied or 'every color pied' if there is ticking/banding in the spots.
